This Eid, popular singer Masha Islam will make her long-awaited debut on the silver screen with Bonolota Express, a film adaptation of Humayun Ahmed’s beloved novel Kichu Khon. Directed by Tanin Noor, celebrated for his critically acclaimed festival films, the project has already stirred considerable excitement among cinema-goers.

“I have always admired Tanin Bhai’s work. After seeing his film Utsab, my admiration grew. Initially, I wanted to contribute behind the scenes on Bonolota Express, but he insisted, ‘No, I want to see you on screen.’ I submitted my audition video, and soon after, the final decision was confirmed.”
Speaking on the personal significance of the role, she added:
“Playing a character from Humayun Ahmed’s universe is a tremendous honour. While I have received acting offers before, I never felt the inner calling. This time, I decided for myself—I wanted to be part of this story.”
