In the latest 24-hour reporting period, seven children have died in Bangladesh from measles and measles-related symptoms, according to the Directorate General of Health Services. Of these, two deaths were confirmed as caused by measles, while the remaining five children died presenting symptoms consistent with the disease.
The data covers the period from 8:00 am on 12 April to 8:00 am on 13 April, as stated in the latest official health bulletin.
During the same period, 729 children were admitted to hospitals with measles-like symptoms across the country, while 82 cases of measles infection were confirmed through diagnosis.

Both confirmed measles deaths occurred in the Dhaka Division. Among the five symptom-related deaths, four were also recorded in Dhaka Division, while one occurred in Rajshahi Division.
Division-wise Distribution of Confirmed Cases
The highest number of confirmed measles cases was reported in Dhaka Division, with 76 cases. Rajshahi Division recorded four confirmed cases, while Chattogram Division reported two cases. No confirmed cases were reported from the remaining divisions during the same period.
Hospital Admissions and Discharges
Out of the 729 children admitted with measles-like symptoms, the highest number of admissions was recorded in Dhaka Division, with 274 cases. The lowest admissions were reported in Rangpur Division (11 cases) and Mymensingh Division (17 cases).
In addition, 713 children who had been admitted with symptoms were discharged from hospitals during the same 24-hour period. Of these, 305 were discharged from Dhaka Division, 12 from Rajshahi Division, and 103 each from Chattogram and Khulna Divisions.
