Dhaka Bank PLC and the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIIDA) have formalised a strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), integrating Dhaka Bank’s services with BIIDA’s “One-Stop Service (OSS)” portal. The signing ceremony took place on 19 January 2025 at BIIDA’s conference hall in Agargaon, Dhaka, marking a significant step towards streamlining investment processes in Bangladesh.
The MoU was signed by Mr Osman Ershad Foiz, Managing Director of Dhaka Bank, and Air Commodore (Retd.) Md. Shaharul Huda, Executive Member of BIIDA. Under the agreement, both domestic and foreign investors will be able to open bank accounts directly through the OSS portal. Technically, the partnership establishes a secure server-to-server connection, ensuring rapid, transparent, and reliable data exchange between the two institutions.
Speaking at the event, Mr Foiz said, “We extend our gratitude to BIIDA for launching this visionary OSS platform. By digitising business registration and investment procedures, the portal enhances Bangladesh’s capacity to attract foreign investment. With over three decades of corporate banking expertise, Dhaka Bank is committed to providing efficient, dependable, and personalised financial services through this integrated platform.”
The signing ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest, Executive Chairman of BIIDA, Secretary-ranked Mr Ashik Mahmud bin Harun. Representing Dhaka Bank were Deputy Managing Director Mr Aklakur Rahman and other senior officials. BIIDA’s Director General, Mr Jibon Krishna Saha, delivered a detailed presentation on the OSS initiatives, while the event was conducted by Deputy Director Abu Mohammad Nurul Hayat Totul.
This collaboration forms a key component of BIIDA’s long-term vision to establish a unified digital ecosystem for investors and represents an important milestone in Dhaka Bank’s support of Bangladesh’s digital transformation and investor-friendly policies.
