The Police Headquarters of Bangladesh has executed a significant administrative restructuring by officially transferring 12 senior law enforcement officers to various strategic departments, training facilities, and regional commands across the nation. The affected personnel hold the ranks of Additional Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Assistant Superintendent of Police, and Assistant Commissioner of Police. This administrative order was formalised through an official government notification signed and issued by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammad Ali Hossain Fakir, on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
These personnel adjustments are conducted as part of the routine operational reassignments within the permanent civil service framework of the Bangladesh Police. The institution itself functions under the direct administrative jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh. The specialised institutional tiers, metropolitan wings, and regional divisions impacted by this specific executive directive include the Special Branch (SB), the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the Police Staff College (PSC), various independent metropolitan police commands, and multiple rural district circle offices.
