The young girl had gone to bathe in a pond located near her house, which is owned by Joran Chandra Monidas in Dargram Daspara. While the victim was applying shampoo to her hair during her bath, the accused, Adhir Monidas, launched an unexpected assault on her. As he attempted to rape her by force, the child began screaming for help.
Upon hearing her cries, a neighbour from an adjacent house rushed to the scene. Realising that someone was approaching, the suspect abandoned the victim and fled from the area immediately.
Following the incident, the victim’s father, Nepal Monidas, lodged a formal complaint at the Saturia Police Station on Monday night, acting as the plaintiff.
