In a landmark performance in the final round of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, Mohammedan Sporting Club produced a breathtaking batting display against rivals Abahani Limited Dhaka, rewriting the competition’s record books and etching their names into List A cricket history.

With the title race hanging in the balance, the fixture carried enormous significance. Yet Mohammedan responded to the pressure with extraordinary composure and aggression, delivering a batting masterclass that culminated in a monumental 406 for 4 — the first time a team has crossed the 400-run barrier in a List A match within the competition.

The innings did not begin entirely smoothly, as early breakthroughs threatened to disrupt momentum. However, opener Naim Sheikh departed for 36, after which the innings rapidly transformed into a spectacle of dominance and calculated power-hitting.

The defining moment came through a colossal partnership between Parvez Hossain Emon and Enamul Haque Vijay. The pair combined for 248 runs, effectively dismantling Abahani’s bowling attack and shifting the match decisively in Mohammedan’s favour. Despite the historic achievement, the overall league record remains intact. That milestone belongs to Prime Bank Cricket Club, who amassed 422 runs against Brothers Union in the 2025 season. Mohammedan fell just 16 runs short of equalling that extraordinary benchmark.
