Police Arrest Repeat Drug Suspect

A man with a history of multiple drug-related cases has been arrested during a police operation in Harirampur Upazila of Manikganj, with law enforcement officers recovering yaba tablets and cannabis from his residence.

According to police, Hukum Ali, 52, was arrested at approximately 4:00 pm on Tuesday, 2 June, during a raid conducted at his home in Rajar Kalta village under Gala Union. He was identified as the son of the late Moncher Ali of the same village.

Police sources said the operation was carried out by Harirampur Police Station following confidential information regarding suspected drug-related activities in the area. During a search of Hukum Ali’s residence, officers reportedly recovered 25 yaba tablets and 50 grams of cannabis. He was subsequently taken into police custody and brought to the police station.

Authorities stated that Hukum Ali had allegedly been involved in drug trafficking activities for an extended period. Police records indicate that he had previously been named in 21 drug-related cases registered with Harirampur Police Station.

Following the latest seizure, a new case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act. According to police, the newly registered case has been recorded as Case No. 1(06)26.

The arrest was made as part of an ongoing anti-narcotics campaign being conducted by law enforcement agencies. Police officials said that regular operations aimed at controlling drug trafficking and preventing the distribution of illegal narcotics in the area would continue.
