A passenger bus lost control and overturned into a roadside ditch along the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in the Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur on Sunday, 31 May. The accident resulted in injuries to twenty-three passengers traveling aboard the vehicle.

The accident occurred at approximately 11:00 am near the bridge adjacent to the Jhaturdia Bazaar, situated within the Kaichail Union of the upazila. Local police authorities confirmed that an “Al Borak” transport passenger bus was en route from Dhaka to Khulna when the driver lost control of the vehicle immediately after crossing the Jhaturdia Bazaar bridge. The vehicle subsequently veered off the tarmac and overturned onto its left side into the roadside ditch.
There were an estimated 30 to 35 passengers on board the vehicle at the time of the crash. Upon receiving notification of the incident, personnel from the Bhanga Highway Police Station and the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence quickly mobilized to the site, initiating a joint rescue operation with the assistance of local residents.

The officer confirmed that traffic flow along the Dhaka-Khulna Highway was not disrupted and remains entirely normal. No fatalities were recorded in connection with the crash. Police personnel are currently coordinating the extraction of the bus from the ditch to transport it to the highway police station.
