NRBC Bank Hosts New Entrepreneurship Development Course

An intensive, month-long Entrepreneurship Development Training Program has been inaugurated in Dhaka, hosted by NRBC Bank PLC. The professional development initiative is being conducted under the administrative oversight of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) and Special Programs Department of Bangladesh Bank.

According to an official corporate announcement, the training course is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and implemented via the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance. It operates as a distinct element of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), with 25 selected aspiring entrepreneurs enrolled in the inaugural cohort.

Executive Launch and Leadership Representation

The opening ceremony took place on Thursday at the Human Resource Training and Development Center (HRTDC) of NRBC Bank. Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, formally launched the session as the chief guest.

The event was chaired by Dr Md. Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRBC Bank PLC. Strategic Targets and Educational Framework

In her address to the 25 participants, Executive Director Husne Ara Shikha emphasized that fostering a generation of skilled and innovative business leaders is a prerequisite for sustained national economic development. She explained that the government aims to create 10 million new jobs, and that Bangladesh Bank’s targeted entrepreneurship programs are designed to advance this objective. Furthermore, she verified that trainees who successfully complete the syllabus will gain access to formal credit and financing facilities through commercial banks to fund their business setups and expansions.

Dr Md. Touhidul Alam Khan detailed the structural layout of the four-week curriculum, stating it was designed to equip young business owners with technical expertise, financial resources, and practical operational strategies. Throughout the month, the interactive program will train the participants in several key commercial disciplines:

  • Business Plan Development: Constructing, structuring, and validating commercial proposals.

  • Financial Management: Mastering corporate accounting, capital budgeting, and cash flow control.

  • Marketing Strategies: Designing consumer acquisition models and market research frameworks.

  • Venture Management: Navigating the logistics and day-to-day operations of innovative startups.

This collaborative educational drive forms part of a sustained partnership between Bangladesh Bank and NRBC Bank. The two entities continuously run equivalent entrepreneurship development courses across numerous districts of the country, aiming to generate regional employment and expand the national small business sector.
